There's no doubt that the International Literary Manifestation in Tetova was a very important event, it was a manifestation with dignity that honored the Albanian culture, the Albanians in general and the Executive Board of the Manifestation… I want to congratulate especially the executive director, Mr. Shaip Emerllahu and the other members of the board for the good arrangements of my visit here and to the very activity of “Ditet e Naimit”. With my wife Helena, we have been much honored. I think the other guests have been honored too… Considering the massive participation of the poets coming from other countries, it was very clear the predisposition for opening towards Europe and the world. The Albanian culture and the very memory of Naim Frasheri are part of the European civilization. This manifestation was a celebration of the Albanian culture, of emancipation and of the will we have for Illumination, wisdom and friendship… I come back with the best impressions from Tetova's Literary Manifestation .

Erik Stinus / Denmark
The importance of poetic meetings and festivals, as the one in Tetova, is multidimensional. The poets write their poems in loneliness and they don't know who is going to read or listen to these poems ever. Here they find each other and a public, young or old people that came for listening. At least, for how long the poem is a mean of communication in different languages, it should become a language on its own, understood from everybody who is present. To us coming from different countries, this is also a learning process. We got closer with the people that hosted us, with their literature, their songs, their culture and history. And you come to find out that this experience should be known and warranted to all the people – that how alike they are. I'm deeply touched that the few poems I brought here from Denmark were appreciated as worthy for a reward. It's like a beautiful acceptance of a gift. It's the same if you added these few poems to the precious treasure of Albanian literature and I know that there they will be in the best company. A warm embrace and thank you very much

Nicole Cage FLORENTINY , Martinique I was very happy to come from my far away Martinique (10 000 km) to share my words with the Albanian people of Macedonia . My participation in this festival is my solidarity with the Balkan people that became true. We used to see in TV the images of war and we cried for our incapacity that we couldn't control or impede the massacres of the other people, the barbarism. Kosova, as well as Macedonia, Afghanistan, Martinique, Africa, Palestine, etc., belong to this south-geopolitics part that from a long time is under the pressure of the bigger ones of the world…And then, behind the border line, when the people gather in the name of poetry and human fraternity, this helps everyone not to fell so lonely and weak. I am very proud that I was honored with the literary prize “Oeneumi”, I am very touched that the public has been very sensible from the words that I get from the poetic sky and that I offer to share with others. We know the economic situation of Macedonia and we know also that this festival is not a state institution. The coordinators have more merits than this for the party they gave to this public. I express my gratitude to the Albanian people for the kind and warm hosting. With this activity, Tetova will be remembered also for the fact that here came to light the building of an institution for all the poets of the world, where in the future activities like this will be held in peace. Long live to "Ditët e Naimit" of Tetova

Sara Mathai - STINUS, (India) Considering the fact that I've never participated in Tetova's festival, this first experience (hoping not to be the last) has been a very positive one. Meeting writers and poets and the so-called common people and public, has always given me a lot of joy. Reading your poems in front of so many people that listen carefully, is the greatest pleasure and I profit from this to thank the coordinators of the festival for the invitation, as well as I thank all the ones in the “backstage”, that worked so hard to make the project successful. All of us need inspiration, regeneration and an “atmosphere” changing to think in a new way, to see with new eyes and to think with open minds. This festival has given me the important part that will help me to write in the future. Now it's my duty to use properly what this festival has given me. May be a peace and an understanding round all of us! .

The International Literary Manifestation “Ditët e Naimit” is without doubts a serious manifestation. I was convinced by myself as a participant of it. Now, you have already your Struga's Poetry Nights in Tetova. There is only a little difference. You shouldn't have complexes about it. In Struga there are foreign poets, they are here too, they have a board, you have it too, they have translation, you have it too, they publish books, you do so too, they have prizes, you have them too. So, you've given the right look to this manifestation. I felt very good in Tetova, where I met Ismail Kadare and had a conversation together...

This manifestation destroyed the 50 years ignorance of communism towards Albanians.
The very presence of Ismail Kadare and the monument of Naim Frashëri in Tetova were the showed that Albanians have a great culture, that they know to appreciate themselves, but even the others as well

I was astonished from the festival of Tetova. I hope to keep alive the cooperation, inviting the Albanian writers and poets in Italy , encouraging as well the Italian writers to come here. During this manifestation, there was an appraising public for the poetry's art. During the three nights the hall of the theatre was overcrowded and that made us to feel much honored.

The most important event we lived this year was of course the International Literary Manifestation "Ditëve të Naimit", that, considering its strategy and reputation, it's of a great importance in the national aspect. The very participation of the prominent poets from the Albanian Diaspora and other countries of the world go beyond all the Albanian cultural and literary efforts, giving it a new and a huge international dimension. There was raised the monument of our Renaissance poet, Naim Frashëri, that is nowhere even in Albania . The multidimensional and significant fact that in Tetova was also Ismail Kadare, shows that this festival aims to connect all the cultural and literary improvement and courses in all the ethnic regions in one cultural and national identity; this is the only question the Albanian should aim, I mean to create a unified cultural homeland, as a project of our future united homeland

The literary manifestation "Ditët e Naimit", as never before, attracted the admirers of poetry, at least, for three things: for the success that the coordinators managed to bring in Tetova the most prominent writers from different continents of the world, for hosting our outstanding writer Ismail Kadare, that was a great new for all of us here in Tetova, because his presence served not only to give credit to this manifestation, but also a real honor for the Albanians that live here. The third: the raising of Naim Frashëri's monument in front of the Cultural Center , place where our great Renaissance poet will stay for long. So, it was a manifestation that brought three important cultural events that will be remembered for long in our minds

Our culture hasn't yet found the forms and ways how to celebrate and manifest. There are only a few the institutions that managed to come to a standard of their activities and should be praised about. So, the year we left behind is without any doubt very important in the cultural historical aspect, when in Tetova was held the International Literary Manifestation “Ditët e Naimit 2002”, where honored with their presence our two outstanding national personalities. The first one is our poet of Renaissance, Naim Frashëri, and the other, Ismail Kadare. The literary celebration of this international festival gave us unforgettable memories and emotions, as well as for all the students, professors and other people of Tetova. The manifestation of this year had an extremely good organization that will be remembered also for the poets and writers that came from different countries of the world. This time, the hall was overcrowded for four consecutive times

Sabidin ALIU , Director of Tetova's Cultural Center
The main manifestation was certainly the International Literary Manifestation “Ditët e Naimit”, in its sixth consecutive year (from October 17-21), where participated a lot of writers from all the countries where Albanians live, as well as poets and writers from other countries, as India, Caraibes, France etc. For the first time, the manifestation of Tetova was much honored this year from the presence of our outstanding writer Ismail Kadare. It should be mentioned that in the ceremony before the Cultural center, the executive board of ILM “Ditet e Naimit” promoted the monument of Naim Frashëri , as well as some books promotions and delivered prizes for the best books published within the period between two manifestations. This was a very important manifestation for the cultural life of Tetova
